Description: 

Objective of this project is to reduce staff exposure to hazardous chemicals - specifically formalin (formaldehyde), ethylbenzene, and toluene - within the Histology Laboratory. The upgrades must ensure compliance with WorkSafe BC Standards and aim to keep exposure levels as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA). This will be achieved through improvements to existing ventilation systems, installation of specialized equipment, and enhancements to the general laboratory infrastructure.

- installation of seal safe system in the histopathology lab and in the operating room

- replacement of grossing stations in grossing rooms

- tissue processors and chemical recyclers ventilation
